As the world grows more and more aware of the dangers gas-emitting vehicles cause the planet, more are willing to look at alternative transportation.
One of the leading vehicles for change has been the growing market for electric cars. While the purchasing of electric cars is growing every year, there’s still a long way to go. Research done by Reuters shows that fewer than 1% of the cars on the road in the United States today are electric. However, there are factors that will see that grow, including celebrity exposure.
We’ll see celebrities riding electric vehicles, and because of their high-profile status, those vehicles become more desirable to the general public. In this piece, we’ll show a few examples of celebrities driving electric vehicles and breaking down their ride.
Robert Downey Jr. – Audi E-Tron GT
The Manhattan actor has been on the stage since the age of 5 and has evolved over the years, tackling a myriad of roles. Now most notably known for his role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, RDJ has had some version of a relationship with Audi for a while now. So it was no surprise to see that he was traveling around in the Audi-E-Tron GT.
The GT has one of the fastest-charging cars on the market, going from 5% to 80% in 23 minutes. Sporting a highly futuristic exterior, the Audi branded vehicle actually squeezes itself into the Top 5 rated electric vehicles in some cases.
Ben Affleck – Lexus LS Hybrid
Ben Affleck, despite ups and downs in his career, happens to be extremely prolific not only as an actor but as a director too. Making his debut in 1984, Affleck has been in a plethora of films and television over the course of almost 40 years.
Affleck drives around in the Lexus LS Hybrid, which comes with a slew of useful features to take advantage of. For one, the Lexus Teammate is a parking and autonomous driving program that takes conditions into account to help the driver make turns, park and execute other driver commands. Combine this with the Advance Park function, and we have a car that’s easy to like.
Daniel Negreanu – Tesla
One doesn’t need the highest profile to still have an influence on the people watching their moves. Enter poker player Daniel Negreanu who, at only 48 years old, has won six World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour championships. On top of this, some circles have named him the best poker player of the 2010s.
So when Negreanu took action and purchased his own Tesla, people noticed. Tesla was one of the first mass-produced electric cars on the planet; with an electric range of over 400 miles and the fact that it can go from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, it is confirmed to be one of the quickest vehicles on the market right now.

We all know that George Clooney is talented but did you know that he’s been in film for 44 years? Starring in all kinds of movies over the course of his career, Clooney actually just starred with Julia Roberts in Ticket To Paradise.
It turns out Clooney has been driving in a motorized version of paradise for a while, as he was one of the first people to ever own an electric vehicle. Now the Tango T600 may not have aged the best by today’s standards, but it’s still a useful vehicle that isn’t actively destroying the environment. Some will go as far as to say that it is the safest car on the planet while simultaneously being one of the fastest.
Alyssa Milano – Nissan Leaf
Milano started acting in 1984 and hasn’t looked back since, having had an impact on over 70 different titles across both movies and television. She’s been recognized on a larger scale too, with 5 awards under her belt, including the Ariadne Getty Ally Award that she won back in 2018.
Alyssa Milano should be awarded for helping the environment as she chooses to drive a Nissan Leaf, an affordable electric vehicle. Not necessarily the most competitive when compared to some of the other cars on this list but with a 200-mile and a 7-hour charge time, it’s still worth looking into.
