Boyne City, MI, November 5th, 2024 — Classic Instruments is pleased to announce the release of an all-new CI Drive speedometer interface. It is designed to operate a cable-driven mechanical speedometer using an electric speed signal from GPS or vehicle speed sensor (VSS). The standard SN85 kit comes complete with the common cable for GM/Ford/Mopar applications and for less common applications customers can purchase the box and cable separately. It has easy plug & play connections to make the conversion painless and can be installed in the dash or under the hood, although it is not waterproof. CI Drive is assembled with high-quality components and allows customers with specialty speedometers to retain the original mechanical speedometer style. The common GM/Ford/Mopar cable that comes standard with the SN85 kit, has a drive output thread of 7/8″-18 and a square of 0.112″ The calibration range from 170-1650 turns-per-mile ensures precision for diverse speedometers and default calibration is for US speedometers at 1000 turns-per-mile. When using a GPS signal, the unit automatically calibrates with the included GPS antenna.
This new CI Drive speedometer interface from Classic Instruments can be purchased direct or through any one of its authorized dealers or at holley.com.
