CAYUGA, ONTARIO (August 15, 2023) – The Pro Modifieds of the NEOPMA and PMRA will return to Empire Dragway in Leicester, NY this weekend for their second scheduled show of 2023, the Empire Dragway/NEOPMA Challenge V. After a successful first appearance at the Western New York facility in July, a large contingent of cars from both Canada and the US will once again represent the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association and the Pro Modified Racing Association on August 18 &19.
Competitors including Mike Decker Jr., Andy Jensen, Kevin McCurdy, Jack Grainy, Melanie Salemi, Bob Bauer, Matt Guenther, Mike Stawicki, James Beadling, John Camp, Gary Courtier, Mike Decker III, Matt Deitsch Jr., Tom Gray, Travis Gueguen, Tyler Hard, Tino Iandansi, Steve King/Gene Pilot/Jeff Miller Team, Kevin McCurdy, Fred Scriba Jr., Dave Texido, Team Vandergeld, John Vergotz, Derek Ward, and Jason White are scheduled to participate, along with some of the Canadian contingent, including Jay Santos (pictured), and Ken Lang.
Along with a strong Pro Modified presence, a full field of Top Sportsman and Top Dragster Quick 32 Sportsman Series teams from both sides of the US-Canada border, are ready to do battle on Empire Dragway’s eighth-mile dragstrip.
Qualifying will be held Friday at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Saturday at 12:00 pm, with eliminations starting at 2:00 pm Saturday. The postponed Challenge IV Top Dragster and Top Sportsman finals and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series overall eliminator will take place Friday, starting at 2:00 pm. Free weekend camping is available.
