Fletcher, NC, (December 9, 2021) – MAHLE Motorsport announces the addition of three new employees to the company’s staff at their headquarters in North Carolina. The three positions fulfill much needed roles in sales technical support and engineering design created by increased product demand for the company’s PowerPak shelf stock piston kits. Hired recently are sales administrator Adam Beddingfield, and engineers Brian Fair and George Wright. All three employees report to MAHLE Motorsport Product Manager Eric Grilliot.
Beddingfield, MAHLE Motorsport’s new sales administrator hired in August 2021, joins an experienced team of in-house PowerPak product experts and sales representatives. He is available Monday through Friday to provide technical product support including answering questions about the PowerPak shelf stock products, PowerPak Plus and custom designed pistons. He is also available to answer all logistics and sales questions regarding product availability, delivery and product use collaborating with the company’s manufacturer reps, warehouse distributors and retailers. He is an experienced machinist and mechanic, and previously worked as a store manager for AutoZone and with Advance Auto Parts for the company’s Commercial Parts Pro division in Greenville, South Carolina.
Also new to MAHLE Motorsport are the additions of Motorsports Applications Engineers – Brian Fair and George Wright. Both recent graduates from Tennessee Tech University (Cookeville, TN) and Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN) respectively. Fair graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and formerly worked with the school’s Formula SAE program as an engine design specialist where he was tasked with researching, designing, fabricating and testing a one-quarter scale open wheeled race car.
Hired in May 2021, both Fair and Wright work in the development of custom performance race pistons. They have direct contact with the customer from day one on the project providing input on the design and specification needed to accomplish project goals, utilizing CMM and 3D scanning equipment for final design and ensuring quality control for the project.
Fair says, “This is a dream job. My focus in school was motorsports and it is rare to have the opportunity to work with race engine builders immediately after school. Where some feel like 1,000 HP pistons may be incredible, we have the advantage of greatly exceeding this at MAHLE.”
Wright adds, “This position allows me to use my experience in Formula SAE design competition acquired with the MNSU Motorsports team. I can’t encourage students enough that have an interest in racing to pursue their passion while at college. It can lead to a dream job. It gives you real world experience that translates to top manufacturers that you can research, design and build quality race parts.”
