Elverson, PA – January 18, 2016 – 2016 will mark both Rod & Jill Fazekas’ 40th year in Motorsports. They will be celebrating this milestone together, by moving forward with the build of their two-car Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car exhibition business and team, which is appropriately named PerfectMatch Pro Exhibition Motorsports. The couple first met when they were six years old, racing AMA District 6 Flat Track motorcycles. Now, only a few years later…they will be on the track together again. This time it will be on 4 Wheels, with 7 additional cylinders and 4,000 more horsepower!!
“Rod and I are very enthusiastic about our new venture. Although our program is in its infancy, we are making progress every day,” said Jill. “We are fortunate and thankful to have our sports most experienced tuners, and many other long-time affiliates lending us advice and support. I see Wicked Fast and Fun Times ahead.”
1970’s Funny Cars and their drivers undoubtedly had presence and personality. Most cars of that period were commonly identified with an edgy, catchy and memorable nick-name. In keeping with tradition, Rod & Jill’s Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars will carry the ‘Domestic Disturbance’ moniker.
Rod added, “Our Husband vs. Wife ~&~ Ford vs. Chevy 1/4 mile battles will feature 1970’s Showmanship, Dry Hops, Long Smokey Burn-Outs, Huge Header Flames and Side by Side 230+mph 5 Second passes. The cars will be running a true late 1970’s FUEL Funny Car tune-up on 90% Nitro.”
Mr. & Mrs. Fazekas have a goal to begin testing on or before August 2016. In the meantime, they invite you to visit their Web Site, Social Pages and Sponsor web sites. About Rod Fazekas
Rod is a race car builder, fabricator and long time crew member with Hanna Motorsports Jet Cars. He has been instrumental in building everything from SEMA Show Cars to Custom Motorcycles. Rod was first introduced to the world of cars, motorcycles and fabrication by his father, Rodney, who was also an avid motor sports enthusiast and car builder. Fazekas began his career as a welder and race car fabricator at S&W Race Cars & Components. In 1993, he left S&W to open the doors to his first custom fabrication and specialty construction business. After twenty years of construction, he decided to return to his ‘roots’ by forming Rod’s Custom Fabrications, specializing in Motorcycles, Street Rods and Race Cars. Since his youth, Rod would always find time to go racing, working as a mechanic with AMA Pro Motorcycle Flat Track teams and as a 15 year crewman with Hanna Motorsports Jets. In 2009, Rod purchased the Eastern Raider (formerly Al Hanna’s 1979-82 AA/FC.) rolling chassis & body from its second owner. He painstakingly restored it to its original condition, only making required NHRA safety upgrades. This car was briefly campaigned as a BB/FC until 2012. Currently, Rod is building two Nitro Nostalgia Exhibition Funny Cars for he and his wife, Jill. He’s looking forward to entertaining both New and Old-School FUEL Funny Car fans with trademark long & smokey 1970’s style burn outs! Rod was born, raised and currently resides in Pottstown, Pennsylvania with his wife Jill, and 2 crazy cats. (2016 marks Rod’s 40th year in Motorsports!)
