The Southern Fried Festival August 22-23 has moved to Hampton’s legendary Langley Racetrack. Sponsored by the International RPM Magazine and Lucas Oil Products, the festival features: the VA Car Show, the Virginia BBQ Championships and the outdoor Southern Fried Music Festival.
Hampton Roads, Va. April 23, 2015 – Mark your calendars..Hampton’s biggest outdoor festival is heading to the Langley Speedway August 22-23.The Southern Fried Festival is two days of music, cars, BBQ and more..the event will be a sure fire way to close-out summer.
The Inaugural Southern Fried Festival in August 2014 featured over 300 cars in the VA Car Show and had over 10,000 spectators during the two-day festival at the Hampton Coliseum. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the show, Event Director Brad Hoffman has moved locations to the historic Langley Speedway for 2015. “We are excited about the move to Langley Speedway, it’s iconic. The venue is perfect. It’s the right spot at the right time to continue to build one of Nation’s best Hot Rod shows,” said Hoffman. “We’re working closely with The Langley team to promote the festival to their loyal race fans all summer long.”
Hoffman also described what he believes will be the premiere areas of the show. “We will have the RPM Mega Motor alley filled with the areas premiere Hot Rods, Drag Cars, Pro Street & Muscle cars along with goody bags from Lucas Oil as well as the smoky smells of the VA BBQ Championships in the pit area. There will also be regional stars performing all weekend long. We definitely think this is one event people will save the date for, it’s one of Nation’s biggest Hot Rod parties!”
New this year will be the Eastern Truck and Accessories 4 x 4 Truck Zone. Also, internationally renowned magazine and show supporter, RPM Magazine, will be on site shooting the show for upcoming features in their magazine. Plus, Street Outlaw stars Doc and Monza will also be on-site both days to sign autographs.
“The RPM MAG/LUCAS OIL VA Hot Rod & Custom Car Show will blow your mind in 2015…and the new Langley venue, well what better place to have a car show than at a facility dedicated to fast cars!” says RPM Magazine Editor In Chief, Chris Biro. “The horsepower you will see in VA will be second to none! The support of the Virginia hot rod, race car and street machine crowd has been unbelievable and their ability to spread the word and welcome out-of-state and even out-of-country cars is incredible. The show itself… the BBQ… the tunes… the night life, it just all fits together to make the perfect package event for young, old and anywhere in between. We have some incredible features lined up for this year’s event including: the first ever public viewing of our own RPM Project 4 Lug Thug, and the world’s wildest Pro Street build that has caught attention worldwide, the RPM Apocalypse Horse Pro Street Mustang. Plus, RPM will be there with photographers and writers as this show has been named a stop on our 2015 Search For Horsepower Tour! We’re ‘all in’ to make this a great experience for everyone and hope to see you there!”
