FEATURE CAR – LIVIN’ THE DREAM – Bob Clayton’s latest ride is a retro-bodied Hemi powered predator!
Bob Clayton was interested in cars as a child, but developed a true passion for power when he got a 1991 Mustang GT for graduating high school. he soon hooked up with a group of like-minded friends and enthusiasts and began modifying the car for action on the street.
FEROCIOUS – This boosted Mopar runs deep into the 4-second zone! Barracuda: “A large, predatory,
ray-finned fish known for its feasome appearance and ferocious behavior”. Glenn Hamilton’s wild Ultra
Street 1967 Plymouth Barracuda certainly checks off all of the aforementioned boxes, except the fish part, of course.
JENNY IS BACK – This turbo 4-banger Liberty shifted compact runs 6-second hits! A six-second Toyota
Starlet? What even is a Toyota Starlet? Well the Starlet was produced in Japan from 1973 to 1999 as a
subcompact and was briefly exported to North American from 1981 to 1984. Given the limited export
window, it’s likely you’ve never seen one beside you on the highway (and if you did, you probably wouldn’t remember it anyway), let along at the dragstrip.
THE SNIPER – This wild blown LS Monte Carlo has you in its sights! The mid-1970’s and well into the
1980’s would unfortunately be one of the less stellar times for our beloved high horsepower engines. Many of the car styles offered by the Big 3 looked great, but almost all lacked any type of substantial
horsepower due to tougher new emissions laws throughout North America…..
QUICK FIX – David Gates’ Photo Essay is a close-up look at one killer Nitrous Nova. Sometimes our RPM
shooters find a killer ride and are compelled to start the shutter rolling, and Tim Barton’s over the top
nitrous Nova is one of them. When we saw the pics come across our desk we just had to get them into
RPM.
