After Hours No-Time Drags
When the class racing is done for the day, the NMRA will be shutting off the clocks for a special No-Time Drag showdown! The NMRA has partnered with Florida N/T, led by Innovative Racecraft and Li Racing and Tuning, to host the Florida N/T 28/275 Shootout. Aside from the tire restriction, rules are minimal and the class is run on an 1/8-mile format. Joining the Florida N/T 28/275 Shootout will be Bradenton Motorsports Park’s Street Car Shootout class, which runs a 1/4-mile distance after competitors drive a street cruise on DOT tires. Get ready for some fast, no-time racing action!
Shelbys and Terminators on the same track?
That’s right! The NMRA Season Opener also features a shootout between the baddest Shelby GT500’s and ’03 Cobras on the same track, on the same day, with the same conditions. Watch as some of the coolest Ford Factory Street cars go wheels-up and wild!
Turbo Battle!
Turbo Battle, presented by Hellion Power Systems, calls out the red-hot turbocharged market. The heads-up competition is contested on the quarter-mile as the wildest streetcars hit the track in search of glory. The category showcases how far enthusiasts and specialty shops are pushing the limits of their turbocharged engine combinations. There are many specific records up for grabs in niche segments of the late-model Mustang market.
QA1 True Street has been one of the most popular drag racing classes in the United States. With easy-to-follow rules, True Street has everything from mild to wild, and beginner to seasoned racer. The event begins Saturday with a 30-mile escorted cruise with other True Street racers to prove the street worthiness of all cars entered in the competition. Next, everyone hits the track for three back-to-back passes, with cash and awards presented immediately following the event.
TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout – Long-time NMRA True Street supporter, TREMEC has announced that they will once again hold the Stick Shift Shootout at the All-Ford World Finals to determine who has the fasted manually-shifted street Mustang in the U.S! Watch as over 120 entrants battle for top True Street honors, with the fastest 8 stick cars receiving a special shootout plaque and custom TREMEC jacket to recognize their prowess. From there things will heat up as the quickest eight manual-equipped vehicles are placed on a “Chicago style” ladder for an all-out heads-up slugfest with the winner taking home a McLeod Racing RXT Twin Disc Clutch & Flywheel valued at $1,300!
On Sunday, the JLT Performance Spring Break Shootout class gets cranking as the fastest 16 cars from Saturday’s True Street competition compete heads-up for even more cash, prizes and magazine coverage. To be eligible for the Spring Break shootout, competitors must meet True Street rules and make all three passes on Saturday. The top 16 cars will be placed on a Sportsman ladder and will race with a 4/10 pro tree.
There’s More Than Just Racing Action!
In addition to all of the action that will take place on the quarter-mile, the NMRA also has the awesome UPR Products All-Ford Car Show, which features over fifty different awards that are presented each day of the show. ’32 Ford with a late-model 5.0? Or a 2003 Cobra stuffed full of aftermarket parts? No matter what your Ford flavor, there’s a place for you in the car show and a shot at the grand prize.
