Kitchener, ON-March 22, 2014- The National Drag Racing Association (NDRA) is returning with their power package and proudly announces their 2014 schedule.
Since NDRA founder, Dale Boeru was tragically killed in a traffic accident on December 11, 2013, there has been much anticipation as to whether the NDRA would continue.
When he recognized a need for Canadian and northern U.S Alcohol Funny Cars to be able to regularly compete back in late 2011, Boeru took on the daunting task to organize a quality Canadian Series that would provide them with a world class, recognized program.
It took a lot of “moxy”, long hours and incredible persistence, but he brought it all together and the newly founded National Drag Racing Association (NDRA) held their first series event on the May 18-20 weekend in 2012 at Grand Bend Motorplex.
Not only did the A/FC racers have a brand new and ultimate opportunity to go up against some of the best floppers in the land, but race fans at Grand Bend, Ontario and Toronto Motorsports Park-Cayuga Dragway, Cayuga, Ontario loved the 3,000 horsepower action for the four race series that year.
It was a “no brainer” to continue the success into 2013, but the new season added a new twist to the entertainment package with the introduction of another class to wow the crowds.

With their array of unique body styles and varied engine types, a contingent of 6 second, 200 mph plus Pro Mods, Top Sportsman, and super street made up the Pro Doorslammers division of the NDRA.
Just as intense as the Funny Car teams, these guys were out to play hard and to keep the fans jumping out of their seats! That, they did!
Combined with the unending dedication and direction of Dale Boeru, his on and off track team and the support of great sponsors, the Alcohol Funny Car and Pro Doorslammer divisions put “bums on the bleachers” for the hosting tracks and gave every fan a really big bang for their buck! The 2013 season was a huge success, to say the least.
With “the guy behind it all” gone, the future looked pretty bleak for NDRA racers and fans alike. But with the encouragement of those racers and fans, Dales brother, Rob Boeru along with Dales wife, Wendy and Dales son, Allen…. as well as returning sponsors and Cayuga Dragway, have made sure that the National Drag Racing Series lives on!
The NDRA is proud to announce that a full four race series agreement has been inked with Uli Bieri at Toronto Motorsports Park-Cayuga Dragway for 2014. The entire series will be a tribute to Dale Boeru on the following dates.
May 17-18: Victoria Day Weekend-Tribute to Dale Boeru
July 12-13: 5th Annual Nitro Nationals
August 2-3:August Long Weekend
August 30-September 1: 3rd Annual Canadian Funny Car Championships
The National Drag Racing Association, with their roster of uniquely styled bodies and the variety of mega-mills in both Alcohol Funny Car and Pro Doorslammer classes, will provide fans with plenty of high-speed action and eye candy as they thunder onto the quarter mile strip at Cayuga Dragway.
The teams are busy readying their rides for the glory of the win and to bring a spectacular show for the NDRA’s 3rd dynamic season! From the first car in the water box to the last to take the win light, drag racing fans are in for some “edge of the seat” entertainment in 2014!
NDRA president, Rob Boeru is dedicated to continue his brother’s legacy. “On behalf of Wendy and Allen, we are proud to make sure that Dale’s dream to provide a thrilling Canadian race program will live on. I want to sincerely thank every one of the returning and new racers and our dedicated staff for their faith in the expected success of the series.”
“Toronto Motorsports Park – Cayuga Dragway owner, Uli Bieri and track manager, Neale Armstrong stepped up to the plate to give us all a place to call home and to offer our fans continued drag racing fun and excitement that we are so focused on. I can’t express my gratitude to these gentlemen enough!”
“Already, many of our sponsors have signed on again for the 2014 season! Their support is integral in getting this venture off the ground. Thanks to Xylotek Solutions, ZFACTOR, InSight Graphics & Design, Trackless MT, Shellbourne Fuels, Cambridge Concrete Pumping, Pegasus Glass, Miska Trailer Factory and Essroc Ready Mix for their early commitments. We look forward to hearing from the rest of our last year’s sponsors and some new ones.”
“In particular, I would like to thank Doug Grosfield of Xylotek Solutions and ZFACTOR’s Massimo Zefferino for getting our website restored. NDRA.ca is such an important information vehicle for our organization and I couldn’t get it done without them.”
Rob closes his comments, “ With the interest expressed by our fans, racers and supporters since Dale’s passing, I am confident that the National Drag Racing Association will not only enjoy a successful 2014 season, but we will continue to grow towards a strong future in the Canadian drag racing scene!”
