In what Ontario Grudge Wars (OGW) expects to be their largest race ever (RPM MAGAZINE SMACKDOWN3 July 20th wknd)), OGW front man Ian Hill is giving a sneak peek at this year’s Champion’s Awards and the lowdown on the largest single weekend payouts OGW has ever offered!
“The winner of each class on the Saturday of the RPM Magazine SMACKDOWN3 will receive a Heavy Weight Championship style belt on top of the class payouts, which are on track to top $50,000 for the event held at Toronto Motorsports Park July 19-21, 2019,” says Hill.
Hill is confident that the belts, supplied by Undisputed Belts, will be a life-long keep sake for all class Champions from Outlaw Extreme to Jr. Dragster during Saturdays portion of the event. These incredible custom awards are made possible through the support of companies that partnered with OGW; “We’d like to thank – RPM Magazine, Wiseco Piston, Motorama2019, Clearshot Customs, PSP Paul Silva Performance, Misener Motorsports, The Fire Within, Tony Starkey Construction, The Trailer Shop, Joe Van O Carbon Fiber, Weldstar and Muscle Car Specialties for their support in bringing these amazing awards to life!”, added Hill.
The RPM Magazine SMACKDOWN3 event will be a full throttle drag racing event featuring the fastest NO TIME grudge cars in the area! The July 20th weekend’s featured classes are the $10,000 Extreme Outlaw Shootout and the $10,000 Limited28s Shootout. The all new Outlaw235 will also be contested along with Street275, Real Street and the newly added Street Bike heads up class! On the sportsman side of the schedule racers and spectators can expect 2 days of Pro, Super Pro, Bikes and Sleds, ICD Insurance Jr. Dragster, which will also include 3 index classes – 8.80 bikes, 10.0 ¼ mile and 6.0 eighth.
“The excitement surrounding our mid-summer event started the weekend of the 2018 event,” continued Hill. “The amount of racers we saw in the starting line watching the final rounds, wishing they had their cars there, and later saying they wouldn’t miss the 2019 event had us on the edge of our seat since last July. The response at the Motorama 2019 car show was amazing and the continuation of the long term relationship between RPM Magazine and Ian Hill Racing Promotions is ever growing and is clearly the reason behind the hype and anticipated success of the event! Stir in the fact that the event is headed to Toronto Motorsport Park for 2019 and we have the means to build something truly special!”
